Asta Nilsson Obituary

Asta was born in Goteborg, Sweden on April 30, 1924 and came to Houston as a young adult seeking a college education in accounting.
Upon earning her degree from the University of Houston, Asta was hired by U.S. Rubber and traveled extensively in the USA and abroad as an accountant and inventory auditor.
Later, wanting less time on the road, Asta was hired by Houston's Montalbano Lumber where she served as Controller for 29 years until her retirement in 2008.
In her younger years, Asta enjoyed donating and distributing clothing and toys to children, especially during the Christmas season. She also had a soft spot in her heart for her many canine companions. Her longtime friends Andy Nicolaisen and Joseph Montalbano were honored to assist Asta during her retirement and twilight years. They would like to thank May Cole and the dedicated staff of Autumn Years Senior Living who were entrusted with Asta's daily care.
At her request, funeral services for Asta will be private with burial in Houston's historic Glenwood Cemetery.
