On June 5, 2023 Aubert V. “Bert” Jaeger passed away at Baylor Scott and White in College Station. He was born on October 6, 1928 in Port Arthur, Texas, baptized on February 17, 1929 at St. John Lutheran Church in Port Arthur, Texas. He confirmed his faith on October 18, 1942 at Evangelical Lutheran Church in Winedale, Texas. On November 16, 1952 he married Cleo Reddehase at Zion Lutheran Church. He was a member of Zion Lutheran and served several terms on the church council and various committees. He was a member of the Bluebonnet Club, Sons of Herman, American Legion Post #48, Top Cat Dance Club. He served many years as district commissioner for the Boy Scouts of America. He loved hunting, dancing, traveling with his wife, and dearly loved his family. He served his country in the military service as a paratrooper in the 508th ARCT 82nd Division. He received his education at Boundry School, Burton High School, Blinn College and Sam Houston State.
From 1953 to 1959 he was employed with P Lorallord Co. 1960 to 1963 he worked for Babson Bros selling dairy and installing dairy equipment. In 1963 he and his wife formed the first Mechanical Contracting Co in the City of Brenham. They owned and operated Majer Inc for 36 years and worked together until they retired in 1999. As a young boy his desire was to fly an airplane, in 1967 he earned his private pilot license and enjoyed many years flying small aircraft, with family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents. Surviving and mourning his loss are wife, Cleo; daughter and son-in-law, Susie and Wade Seidel; daughter, Pat Ehlert; grandchildren, Sarah and Arty Brieden, Sam and Lainey Seidel, Anna and Ian Molyneux and Chip and Danielle Ehlert. Great-grandchildren, Elizabeth, Evelyn and Ann Margret Brieden, Margret, Barbara, Susan and Mary Seidel, Emerson and Ezra Ehlert, Hunter and Aubert (Audie) Molyneux.
Memorials may be given to Zion Lutheran Cemetery Fund or The American Heart Association.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Saturday June 10, 2023. Funeral Service will be at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 11, 2023 at Zion Lutheran Church, burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Sam Seidel, Chip Ehlert, Arty Brieden, Ian Molyneux, Darrell Winkelmann, Fred Winkelmann, Kim Mueller, Douglas Borchardt and Wade Seidel. Honorary pallbearers are Bob and Marie Fitzgerald and the members of 508 Airborne Division, United States Army.
