John David Jaeger (1938 - 2026)

John David Jaeger, 88 years old, of Melbourne, Florida, passed away peacefully February 17th, 2026.

He was born February 3rd, 1938, in Weehawken, New Jersey, to Julius and Hulda Jaeger. After his biological mother's passing, his father married Sophie Jaeger, who officially adopted John.

John is survived by his children, Eric (& Birgit) Jaeger, Christian (& Heike) Jaeger, Jennifer (& Manfred) Streck, and Julian (& Marie) Jaeger; by his grandchildren, Benedict (& Alexandra), Vincent, Madeleine, Alexander, Nick, Caitlyn, Tim, Sebastian, and Benjamin. He is also survived by Jutta Jaeger, former wife and mother to two of his children, and Lorraine Jaeger, former wife and mother to two of his children.

He spent the first 30 years of his life in the United States, serving in the US Air Force (1955-1959 and 1961-1962), and beginning his professional career with Booz Allen & Hamilton. The next three decades took him to Germany and Austria, where he continued his work with Booz Allen & Hamilton before joining Hypo Bank Vorarlberg. At 61 years old, he and his family returned to the United States, where he entertained semi-retirement. Eventually, he returned to work at SIE Connect. Friends and colleagues remember him as

dependable, talkative, and deeply caring.

John loved living on the Space Coast, where he could stay close to one of his greatest interests - Space Exploration. He visited the Kennedy Space Center often. He enjoyed cruising the world, traveling back to Europe, sipping his daily Starbucks coffee, cheering on the Dallas Cowboys, and spending time with his grandchildren.

A celebration of life for family and friends will be held at a later date.
