Aubrey Marshall Richter, age 96, of Moody Tx passed away Wednesday, April 9th, 2025. The family will receive visitors for his viewing at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home at 500 W. Barton Avenue, Temple Tx 76501 on Friday, April 25th from 5-7 pm. Funeral services will be held at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 220 The Grove Rd, Gatesville Tx 76528 on Saturday, April 26th at 10am.
Aubrey was a veteran who served in the Army during the Korean War then worked for the civil service as a mechanic where he retired. He was a loyal and committed husband who ended up becoming a beloved father, grandfather, and even a great grandfather, a church volunteer, and friend who loved to entertain!
Aubrey was always a hard worker even after he retired, always going sun up to sun down on the ranch. The memories he gave his grandkids and great grandkids will never be forgotten. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing for anything that would take the bait and hunting for coyote, bobcat, raccoon, whitetail deer, dove, duck and wild turkey! He enjoyed traveling and made trips to California, Branson Missouri, Oklahoma, and even took a cruise to Mexico. Aubrey was an active member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in The Grove Texas.
He is preceded in death by his parents Louis and Ida Richter, two sisters Laverne Hohhertz and Leona Fisher, brother Wilbert Richter, and sons Jerry, Larry and Harold Richter.
He is survived by his wife Dorothy Richter, sister Inez Richter, grandchildren Jeromy and Marshall Richter, Crystal Byrd and great-grandchildren Jaxson, Kenna, and Kyra Richter, Kaylee Green, and Halle Byrd as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
