Audrey Goracy

AUDREY GORACY, 96, of Jackson Twp., NJ, passed away on Monday, November 17, 2025,

at Bartley Healthcare, Jackson Twp. She was born in Jersey City, NJ and resided in Bayville, NJ

and Worcester, MA prior to settling in Jackson Twp. 5 years ago.

Audrey was employed as a payroll specialist prior to her retirement. However, she spent most of

her time being a loving mother and wife. She was well-known in her neighborhood and was

fiercely protective of those she loved. She was a devoted Catholic and was generous to those

who needed it. She was a tough critic but was very honest and smart. She was not permitted to

continue her education, but endeavored to be a lifelong learner by reading the newspaper every

morning, completing the crossword puzzles and sudoku puzzles every day, and looking up every

word she didn't know in the dictionary she kept next to her chair.

She enjoyed crocheting, reading, playing cards, and watching gameshows and tennis. She was

obsessed with the NY Mets. She spent a large part of her retirement in social clubs - from a

canasta club to pool aerobics to the "Red Hats". She did it all and made many friends along the

way. Most of all, she loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, and

would never turn down an opportunity to play patty cake with a baby.

Audrey was predeceased by her parents, Walter and Carrie Hausser; her sister, Edith Hausser;

her husband, Robert Goracy in 1996, and by her son Robert Goracy Jr in 2023. She is survived

by her daughter, Susan McIntee; her son, Mark Goracy; her 7 grandchildren; and by her 9 great-

grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her visitation from 9-10:30 AM on

Saturday, November 22, 2025, at the GEORGE S. HASSLER FUNERAL HOME, 980 Bennetts

Mills Rd., Jackson, NJ. Her Funeral Liturgy will follow at 11 AM at The Church of St. Monica,

679 W. Veterans Hwy., Jackson, NJ. A private cremation will follow. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Audrey's memory to the National Council of the US Society of St. Vincent de Paul, 66 Progress Parkway, Maryland Heights, MO 63043, www.ssvpusa.org/donate, and would be greatly appreciated.
