Jean A. Goracy, 79, of Whitesboro, passed away on Tuesday, December 3, 2024, at home, with her loving family by her side.
Jean was born in Utica, on February 9, 1945, the daughter of John and Mary (Majka) Goracy. She was raised and educated in Utica and was a graduate of Utica Free Academy. Jean was employed as a nurse's aide with the Utica Psychiatric Center. She was an avid New York Yankees Fan and was of the Catholic faith. Her greatest joy was her family, especially her cherished grandson Max, who was the light of her life.
Jean is survived by her devoted and loving daughter, Jennifer Goracy of NY Mills, who tirelessly cared for her mother; cherished grandson, Max Goracy of NY Mills; sister, Mary Ann Malachowski of Yorkville and sister-in-law, Helen Goracy of Clinton, as well as several beloved nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, John and Mary; brother, John Ray Goracy and sister, Anita O'Lite.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to Jean's memorial Mass of Christian burial on Wednesday, December 11, 2024, at 10:30 a.m. at the Church of The Sacred Heart & St. Mary, Our Lady of Czestochowa, 201 Main St., NY Mills. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to Hospice and Palliative Care, Inc, 4277 Middle Settlement Rd., New Hartford, NY 13413 or the American Cancer Society at www.donate.cancer.org.
