Audrey Mary Rexine Heier, of Fargo, ND passed away peacefully on July 16, 2025 at New Perspective Senior Living at the age of 95.
Audrey was born on June 18, 1930 in Portland, Oregon to Theodore and Agnes (Brophy) Rexine. When she was 1 year old they moved back to North Dakota. She attended and graduated from St. John's Academy in Jamestown, ND.
She married Roy Heier on January 15, 1949. They lived in Jamestown, Torrington, Wyoming, Chicago, Moorhead and Fargo.
She worked at Blue Cross Blue Shield for many years; retiring from there. In retirement she enjoyed crocheting and crafts, reading and making homemade boxes from greeting cards which the kids all liked to get as there was always a little something inside for them. She enjoyed traveling within the country with Roy and family and with her sisters to Ireland and Germany.
Audrey is survived by her two sons, Mark, Harwood and Neil (Diane) Harwood; her sisters, Joyce Gorman and Claudia Villarreal; brothers, Gerald (Arlene), Bill (Virg), Gary and many nieces and nephews,
She is also survived by 5 grandchildren, Beth (Jade) Nelson, Jamie (Chad) Yanish, Andrea (Dan) Evert, Casey Heier and John (Stephanie) Heier; 8 great-grandchildren, Hanna (Gavin) Longthorne, Tanner (fiance Taylor Haberlack) Nelson, Ellie Nelson, Asher Munos, Rayne Munos, Rowan Evert, Viviane Evert and Skyler Heier.
Audrey was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Roy; her parents, sisters, Lois and Evelyn and brothers, Gene, Leroy and Joseph.
Her funeral service will be held Monday, July 21, 2025 at noon at Hanson-Runsvold Funeral Home in Fargo, ND with visitation one hour prior and will be live-streamed on the funeral home website. Burial will be at the Fargo National Veterans Cemetery, Harwood, ND.
