Obituary of Audrey Weldon Johnson
Audrey Weldon Johnson, Age 96, born June 18, 1928. Passed away peacefully March 30, 2025.
She was preceded in death by her parents, David and Helen Weldon; her dear sister, Bernadine and Bob Blader and her beloved husband, Roy Johnson, who she married August 6, 1954.
They were married 59 happy years. Audrey was a Johnson High School grad, class of 1946. She attended Bethel College and the U of M graduating in 1952. Employed over 20 years at Burlington Northern (Great Northern Railroad). Audrey had a fondness for clubs and reunion committees! She started the "Audrey Club", was an active member of the Keynote Toastmistress Club & charter member of the Toastmistress Railettes. Audrey planned six Family Reunions, served on the planning committees for her grade school, high school and college reunions and taught seminars on reunion planning. Audrey wrote "The Road Back Home", a guide to planning Family Reunions and "Dear Harts and Faithful People", a Weldon-Hart family history.
Audrey treasured flags, maps, the State Fair and the Minnesota Twins! She served on the Crossroads Chapel committee for the Minnesota State Fair. You could find her there working every year well into her 80's. Her beloved Twins were the theme for her 95th birthday party and we have a picture of Dan Gladden photo bombing her at a game. Audrey was the past President of many chapters and clubs, one of which was Railway Businesswomen. The YMCA was very close to Audrey and Roy's heart because that is where they met! She also loved working at YMCA Camp St. Croix. Recently the camp magazine did an alumni spotlight story on Audrey and her involvement with the camp over the years.
She is survived by her sister's children who loved their aunt deeply, Randy, Teri, Shelly, Barb and Bonnie and their beautiful families. Many, many marvelous cousins, other relatives, neighbors and friends. We want to sincerely thank, her cousin, Gary who graciously checked on her twice a day, drove her places and genuinely was a wonderful companion to her since Roy's passing in 2014.
Audrey was so ready to meet her Lord and Savior, and we rejoice she is happy in Heaven now. Funeral will be Monday, June 2nd at 11am OUTSIDE at the Elmhurst Cemetery St. Paul, MN with lunch and fellowship to follow across the street at TST Creative Catering. Please wear something RED-Audrey's favorite color! Memorials preferred to YMCA Camp St. Croix.

Audrey and I became friends after our husbands died about the same time. She and I started an encouragement group at church which met successfully for a two-year period. I enjoyed Audrey's deep faith, her intelligence, her bright spirit and our discussions of baseball. She was a good friend and I miss her very much.
