OLDFIELD, Audrey Of Wolfeboro, NH, passed away peacefully, on July 12, 2025, at age 91. Born on January 6, 1934, in Newton, MA, to Helen and Arthur Trudo, Audrey was the middle child of five and grew up with a love for life that never faded. She married her high school sweetheart, Stanley J. Oldfield, and together they built a beautiful life, side by side for 66 years until his passing on May 26, 2023. They were truly inseparable - always together, always a team. Audrey was a devoted mother to Cheryl (and her husband Len) and Stan (and his wife Beth); a proud grandmother to Taylor (and her husband Nik), Ashton, and Sydney; and a delighted great-grandmother to George Stanley. She was also a loving sister to her late brothers and sisters: Richard Trudo, Dorothy Maguire, Carol Kenney and Arthur Trudo. Audrey is survived by her only living brother-in-law, Brian Kenney. She was predeceased by her dear mother - and father-in-law, Amos and Ethel Oldfield; and her brother-in-law, David Dunn Oldfield. She leaves behind many nieces and nephews who adored their aunt Audrey and will forever hold her memory close. Audrey had an adventurous spirit. She was an athlete who took up golf, skiing, and tennis with Stan and they spent countless sunny days together at Waterville Valley, NH, La Quinta, CA and her favorite course at Lake Winnipesaukee Golf Club. When her children were in school, Audrey returned to work at GTE after years as a court stenographer - always heading out the door with that "funny little machine," as the family fondly remembers. Faith was an important part of Audrey's life. She and Stan were parishioners of St. Katharine Drexel Parish in Alton, NH, and especially cherished Father Cole, whom they followed from their days in Waterville Valley. One of the family's sweetest memories is Audrey and Stan going to Mass at the little red schoolhouse, still in their ski gear after a morning on the slopes. Audrey will be remembered as a good friend, a wonderful role model, and the best company for a snack and drink at 4 PM. She loved dipping her feet in the water, relaxing in a chair by the lake, enjoying the family dogs and laughing with her grandchildren. The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the Granite VNA staff of New Hampshire, whose phenomenal care and compassion helped make Audrey's final days comfortable and peaceful. She leaves behind a legacy of love, warmth, and quiet strength - the kind that made you feel at home whenever you were with her. And if you knew Audrey, you likely heard her say it best in her favorite words: "Enjoy the now." Funeral Mass was held Wednesday, July 16, 2025, in Our Lady Help of Christians Church, Newton, followed by Interment in Newton Cemetery. Donations may be made to Granite VNA
