Audrey Jean Sonneville

Audrey J. Sonneville, 88, of Winter Haven, Florida, peacefully passed away on December 14, 2025, with her family by her side.

Born on February 9, 1937, in Highland Park, Michigan, Audrey spent much of her life in Battle Creek. In 2004, she and her husband, Bill, relocated to Winter Haven, where she quickly became an active and beloved member of the community.

For over 30 years, Audrey worked as a Teacher's Aide for the Battle Creek Public Schools, focusing much of her time and energy on supporting emotionally impaired students. Her compassion and patience had a positive impact on countless young lives.

Audrey's creativity was a defining part of her life. She loved crafting and decorating, and after moving to Florida, she became known for her artistic talent and creative vision which brought festive cheer to their community during the holidays. She and her husband were active members of The Lord's Church at Swiss Golf and Tennis, where Audrey's warmth and kindness touched many lives. Their commitment to community and each other was evident in every aspect of their lives, enriching the bonds they formed and leaving a lasting impression on those around them.

A talented dancer, Audrey taught ballroom dancing at Arthur Murray Studio in her youth, square and round danced as they grew older, and carried that love of dance throughout her life. Even in retirement, she and her husband, Bill, enjoyed golf, playing cards, and working together at Universal Studios during busy seasons, embracing new adventures side by side.

Audrey is survived by her devoted husband, Bill, of nearly 70 years; daughters, Billie Jean Lopez and Shari Lynn Sun (Jim); brothers, John Riley (Sandra), Tom Riley (Laurie), and Bob Fenn; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Armour and Virginia Fenn; and her sisters, Margaret Riley and Linda Shaw.

Audrey will be remembered for her creativity, her love of family, and the joy she brought to everyone fortunate enough to know her.
