Donald F. Sonneville, 91, of Moline, passed away Tuesday, November 21, 2023, at his home.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 25, 2023, at Christ the King Church, Moline, with visitation one hour prior. Private burial will be at St. Mary's Cemetery, East Moline.
Memorials can be made to Alleman High School, Christ the King Church or Genesis Hospice.
Don was born April 5, 1932, in Moline, the son of Frank and Celia (Hendricks) Sonneville. He married Tina Guzzo on April 28, 1956, in Rock Island.
Don was a 1956 graduate of St. Ambrose College, Davenport. He retired from the Rock Island Arsenal Headquarters in 1994, after 37 years of service.
Don was a member of Christ the King Church, Moline, TEC, Cursillo, the Christian Family Movement and was an honorary member of the Cruddy Buddies. He enjoyed playing golf and cards and was an avid runner and ran the Bix several times and did two hikes through the Grand Canyon.
Survivors include his wife, Tina; children: Christine Hansen, Moline, Seth Sonneville (Tracy Mosteller), Lenexa, KS, James (Sherryl) Sonneville, Burlington, IA, and Michael Sonneville (Ryan Chouinard), Bourbonnais, IL; grandchildren: Rebecca, Tyler, John, Michael, Matthew, Sarah and Adam; seven great-grandchildren; brother, Walter Sonneville, Gaithersburg, MD; and sister, Margie Galvin, Naperville, IL. He was preceded in death by his great grandson, Dylan.
His family would like to thank the Overlook Village CNAs and Nurses and Genesis Hospice for their care of Don.
