Audrey D. Walters

Audrey Walters of Philadelphia and Cape May passed away peacefully on August 15th, 2025.

Audrey was educated and showed early artistic talent at Germantown High School before continuing her studies at the University of the Arts. After meeting as classmates and working together at Wanamaker's, Audrey and Henry wed at the Ethical Society on Rittenhouse Square.

Audrey began her career overseeing the illustrations department of Curtis Publishing and later established the leading graphic design and illustration agency in Center City.

Audrey and Henry purchased, renovated and sold innumerable houses in Philadelphia, and Audrey applied her artistic talents to interior decoration for clients and friends.

In 1962 Audrey and Henry purchased a home in Cape May which remained their beloved summer home until Henry's death in 2002, and for Audrey throughout her life.

Audrey was a longtime member and supporter of many organizations, among them the Charlotte Cushman Foundation, the Cosmopolitan Club, the Philadelphia Art Alliance and, in Cape May, the Corinthian Yacht Club, the Cottagers' Association and the Beach Club where she served a term as President.

Audrey was noted for her wit and style, and relished conversation over a game of Scrabble or while simply enjoying the Cape May sunshine, where she was happily situated as recently as the week before her passing.

Gently crossing the bridge after another wonderful Cape May summer brought an elegant ending to a life very well lived and thoroughly enjoyed. Evoy Funeral Homes, Inc., P.O. Box 1010, 3218 Bayshore Road, North Cape May, NJ 08204 has been entrusted with arrangements.
