Loving Father and Grandfather
Mr. August L. Ciresi, Sr, age 94, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at his home on Friday, June 14, 2024. He was the loving husband of the late Betty Lou (Clark) Ciresi.
Born in Waterbury on June 8, 1930, Augie was the son of the late Leonard and Rose (LaMattino) Ciresi.
He was a graduate of Leavenworth High School. He was a welder and carpenter for David Transportation Home Builder and was a self-employed carpenter throughout his life. Augie built many homes in Waterbury, Naugatuck, and Watertown. He was an avid golfer and a fan of the New York Yankees.
Augie is survived by his son August L. Ciresi, Jr. and his wife Cathy of Wolcott, his daughters, Sharon Sousa and her husband Jack of Old Lyme and Debra Wrigley and her husband Duke of Naugatuck. He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Ryan Ciresi, Matthew Ciresi, Jonathan Sousa, Jaclyn Sousa, Thomas Daddona and Kristina Ferrari, as well as 13 Great-Grandchildren and his sister Marianne Cardella of Naugatuck. In addition to Betty Lou, his wife of 70 years, Augie was predeceased by his daughter Rose Marie Ciresi.
