Desousa, Augusto "Gus" passed away surrounded by his loving family at the Brigham and Women's Hospital on August 19, 2023. He was 44.
Born in 1979, Gus was born and raised in Stoughton. He was known for being an avid sports fan, and even moreso, a Tom Brady fan. Gus loved to work on classic cars and always had an upbeat way about him. He took pride in his Batman collection and always made time with Melissa to hunt for more memorabilia, whether it be Batman or M&M theme for Melissa. Gus was able to make anyone smile with his sense of humor. You could catch Gus driving around the neighborhood in his Batman golf cart. He was a strong man that did not like to show his limitations. More than anything, Gus was proud of his family, specifically his wife and children, and motivated them to do anything they set their minds to. Whatever was important to his family was important to him. He will be loved and missed by all who knew him.
Survived by his loving wife Melissa (Donald) Desousa of Stoughton. Cherished father to Shaelyn, Dylan, and Emma. Beloved son-in-law to Jeff and Helen Donald. Brother-in-law to Jackie and Demetri Athanasiou of East Sandwich and Jill and Dave Coen of Australia. Uncle to Isaac, Connor, Casey, Cameron, and Amelia. Dog dad to Maggie and Cleo Desousa. Son of Augusto and Mary Desousa.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Sunday, August 27, from 12-4 in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home NORTH WEYMOUTH at 40 Sea Street (off Route 3A – Bicknell Square). Cremation to follow. Donations in Gus' name may be made to the South Shore VNA.
