Aura Estela Rodriguez

Aura Estela Rodriguez, a 15-year resident of Fishkill, formerly of New York City and the Dominican Republic, passed away on Thursday, March 12, 2026 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie. She was 94.

Daughter of the late Armando Burgos and Altagracia Martinez. She was born in Santiago, DR on March 24, 1931. Aura was a stay at home Mom and loved cooking, dancing, shopping, and traveling, especially when visiting her home country. She will be remembered as a great mom, grandmother, homemaker, and the matriarch of her family.

In 2015, she was predeceased by her beloved husband, Juan G. Rodriguez. They were together for nearly 70 years.

Survivors include her children: Altagracia Cruz (Jose) of Kissimmee, FL, Egberto Rodriguez of Fishkill, Miguel Rodriguez (Albania) of Fishkill, Alfredo Rodriguez of Kissimmee, FL, Beatriz Fornells (Wilfredo) of Wappingers Falls, Juan Rodriguez (Marilyn) of South Carolina, Persio Rodriguez of Dominican Republic, Joanny Marin (Alfonso) of Michigan, and Andria Rodriguez of Fishkill; her grandchildren: Liza Cruz (Joaquin), Cynthia Cruz (Miguel), Jose Cruz, Jr. (Maria), Elias Rodriguez (Damaris), Jonathan Rodriguez (Stephanie), Melissa Rodriguez (Jauron), Michael Rodriguez (Christina), Jennifer Rodriguez, Kristen Montalvo (Welen), Natalie Rodriguez, Miguel Rodriguez Jr., Ashlie Fornells-Turner (Jeremy), Nicholas Fornells (Brittany), Jeanine Marrero (Israel), Andrew Marin, Kayla Marin, Manuel Felix (Carmen), and Gabriel Felix (Rose); her great-grandchildren: Nicole, Veronica, Isabella, Joshua, Maria Jose, Ethan, Ella, Sebastian, Penelope, Oliver, Theo, Angel, Trinity, Jovan, Arabella, Anais, Luca, Soran, Izzy, Lucas, Mila, Leia, Luciana, Alina, and Elijah; as well as many nieces, nephews, and countless other loving relatives.

In addition to her husband and parents, Aura was also predeceased by several siblings.

Calling hours will be held from 2:00pm to 5:00pm on Sunday, March 15 at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10:30am on Monday, March 16 at St. Mary, Mother of the Church, 106 Jackson Street, Fishkill, NY. Interment will follow at Fishkill Rural Cemetery, 801 Route 9, Fishkill, NY.
