Barbara Jane Conklin

POUGHKEEPSIE- Barbara Jane Conklin, a Dutchess County resident for over 50 years, formerly of Westchester, passed away at home in Poughkeepsie on March 13th, 2026. She was 87 years old.

Barbara was born to the late David Falconer & Hilda (Sedgwick) Smith on March 19th, 1938, in Peekskill. She would go on to have a long illustrious career at Riverside Bank, in Poughkeepsie. Barbara would retire as the Branch Manager at the Red Oaks Mill location.

She was known for her ornate homemade cards that she would send out to family and friends for any given birthday, holiday, or occasion.

On June 29th, 1957, she married the love of her life, Raymond Conklin, in Peekskill. He would go on to predecease her on February 2nd, 1995.

Barbara is survived by her children, Christopher & his wife Nancy of Stone Ridge; Andrew & his wife Penny of Stafford Springs, CT; Alyson & her husband Matthew Hite of Charlotte, NC; her grandchildren, Chrystal Conklin ( Paul Dekams); Courtney Blank (Teddy); Chelsea Jakova (Tefe); Alyssa Fifield (John); Tommy Hite; her great-grandchildren, Mckenzie; Liam; Meredith; Adelyn; along with many cousins, nieces & nephews, and other family members.

Aside from her parents and husband, Barbara is predeceased by her sister Maryane Wynants.

A celebration of life honoring Barbara will be held at a later date.
