Aurore M. Lamarche

Alburgh/Swanton - Aurore M. Lamarche a longtime area resident, passed away Sunday, October 19, 2025, at the Maple Lane Nursing Home in Barton.
Born in St. Christine, Quebec on August 19, 1920, one of 10 children, to Josue and Yvonne (Lecuyer) Gevry. Aurore was 105 years old.
On October 17, 1942, in St. Christine Aurore married Marcel O. Lamarche, who predeceased her on March 11, 2015. They were married for 72 years.
Aurore was educated in St. Christine and moved to Alburgh where she and Marcel worked as farm hands eventually purchasing and operating their own dairy for 32 years. She was proud to be a farmer's wife. In 1974, they moved to Swanton, where she was a communicant of the Church of Nativity.
She enjoyed quilting, playing cards, bingo, cooking meals for her family, gardening and canning her produce. Most of all she enjoyed being with her family.
Survivors include her son, Yvon Lamarche, as well as her daughters-in-law, Cornelia (Lamarche) Goodyear and husband, Ross Goodyear, and Rita Lamarche, 13 grandchildren, many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
Aurore is only survived by 2 of her 9 siblings, Lorette Gendron and Terese Carufel.
In addition to her parents, Josue and Yvonne, husband, Marcel, Aurore was predeceased by her daughter, Nicole Lamarche, two sons, Bernard Lamarche and Robert Lamarche and 7 brothers and sisters.
A graveside service will be held on May 16, 2026, at 1:00 PM at Mountain View Cemetery, Freeman Hill Road in Moretown.
