Austin Raymond MacIsaac, 84, of Port Saint Lucie, Florida, went home to be with the Lord peacefully on July 22, 2025, in Jupiter, Florida. Born on September 5, 1939, in Schenectady, New York, Austin lived a life marked by service, laughter, and unwavering kindness.
A proud graduate of Mont Pleasant High School in Schenectady, New York, Austin went on to serve his country with honor as a member of the United States Marine Corps. He served during the Vietnam War, embodying the courage and dedication that would define his character throughout his life.
Austin was known for his warm and friendly nature, always ready with a smile and one of his signature corny jokes. His sense of humor brought joy to those around him and left lasting impressions on everyone he met. He was a loyal friend and a generous soul who never hesitated to lend a hand to anyone in need.
Austin shared many cherished years with his beloved wife, Sandra Shufelt MacIsaac, who passed in April 2020. He was also preceded in death by his parents, J. Leonard and Josephine MacIsaac of Schenectady; daughter, Rita M. MacIsaac; sisters, Mary Pritchard, Elizabeth Lancto, Shirley Meuse, and Virginia Stoddard; and brothers, J. Leonard MacIsaac Jr., John MacIsaac, and Stephen MacIsaac.
Austin was a devoted father to his daughter, Beverly MacIsaac Erickson of Port Saint Lucie. His love for family extended deeply to his sister, Josephine MacIsaac Peeney of Schenectady, New York, as well as to many beloved nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his lifelong friend, Wallace "Wally" Winston of Schenectady, New York, whom he had known since early childhood.
In his leisure time, Austin found great enjoyment in watching NASCAR races and immersing himself in classic Western movies and television shows; pastimes that reflected both his spirited energy and appreciation for classic Americana.
Austin Raymond MacIsaac will be remembered for the laughter he shared, the love he gave so freely, and the strength with which he lived. May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him.
A memorial service will be held on September 6, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Port Saint Lucie Bible Church, 1120 Southwest Paar Drive, Port Saint Lucie, Florida. Memorial donations may be made to either the Parkinson's Foundation or Trustbridge Hospice (Hospice of Palm Beach County) in Mr. MacIsaac's name.
