It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our perfect son, Autrey Brian Thacker, on October 20, 2025. Born December 31, 2001, Autrey was the son of Leslie and Kandi Rhodes. He is preceded in death by his grandfather, Jimmy Huff; and uncle, Robbie Huff.
Autrey is survived by his loving parents, Leslie and Kandi Rhodes; brother, Garrett Rhodes (Savannah Broadway); sisters, Brittney Thacker (Josh Perkins), Taylor Rhodes, Lesley Rhodes, and Haleigh Rhodes; grandparents, Tina Manderson, Carol Allen, and Jerry Rhodes; cousins, Ansley Gaddy, Baley Rhodes, Camron Rhodes, Amber Cornett (Wesley), Brandon Rhodes (Amberly), Noah Fox, Samantha Austin, Mandy Austin, Travis Daughtry, Madison Daughtry, Caroline Kinlaw (Alex), Jake Ricks, and Ashley Rager (Owen Senowitz) ; aunts and uncles, Keri Gaddy (Daniel), Jamie Rhodes (Jada), Sharmon Rager (Steve), and Sandy Daughtry (Jamie); nieces and nephews, Emma Rhodes, Aubrey Dungan, Dawson Perkins, Isabella Perkins, and Warren Rhodes; long-time caregiver and friend, Maria Liles; as well as many other close friends.
Autrey was always surrounded by love. Though his time here was far too short, his spirit shined brighter than most ever do in a lifetime.
Autrey was born with handicap challenges that would have held others back, but he met the world with pure joy and an unshakable love for life. His smile could light up any room, and his laughter was a gift to everyone blessed enough to know him.
He loved traveling with his parents, Leslie and Kandi, and every trip - no matter how small - became an adventure when he was part of it. Autrey found happiness in every moment, and his excitement for life reminded everyone around him what truly matters.
He adored his siblings and loved "hanging out with the boys." Family was his world, and he filled every day with warmth, humor, and love.
Autrey's light will continue to shine in the hearts of everyone who knew him. Though our hearts are broken and we miss him deeply, we find comfort knowing that his beautiful soul is now, whole, and he is walking with Jesus now - smiling brighter than ever before.
A celebration of Autrey's life will be held Saturday October 25, 2025 at 4 p.m. at the home of his Uncle and Aunt- Jamie and Jada Rhodes at 143 Old Creech Rd Selma NC
Family and friends are invited to join us in honoring his beautiful life and the joy he brought into ours.
