Ava Rebecca Stamets, 18, of Canton, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, August 21, 2025, following a tragic accident. She was born on March 30, 2007, in Canton, Ohio, to Mark and the late Danielle (Sanderson) Stamets.
Ava was a proud 2025 graduate of Tuscarawas Valley High School and was employed as a dedicated home health aide, where her kind and giving spirit shone through in the care she provided to others. She had a creative side and loved doing nails, and she found joy in the simple things—fishing, swimming, being outdoors, and playing soccer. More than anything, Ava loved spending time with her family, especially her cherished niece.
Ava was known for her big heart and her unwavering reliability. She was the one friends and family could always count on, offering her time, her compassion, and her love without hesitation. Her generous spirit and radiant smile will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Danielle Stamets; grandmother, Barb Sanderson; and grandfather, Ronnie Estep.
Left to treasure her memory are her father, Mark Stamets; sisters, Angelina Stamets, Emma Stamets, and Lexus Ries; niece, Delilah Rose Stamets; her beloved dog, Nova; grandparents, Scott Sanderson and Rebecca “Becki” Estep; aunts and uncles, Cheryl and Eric Ward, Nicole Nowatzki, Stacy Huff, and Barbara Thewes; cousins, Tyler and Mariah Nelson, Riley Ward, along with many more cousins, extended family, and dear friends.
