Avah Smith

Avah Smith 85, of Calhoun, Kentucky passed away Thursday, February 8, 2024 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. Avah Lee Hayden was born January 30, 1939 in McLean County, Kentucky to the late William Lee and Avah Louise Young Hayden and was married to Donald Byrd Smith on March 16, 1957. Avah retired as a supervisor from Omico Plastics in Owensboro and was a member of Beulah General Baptist Church. She loved all animals, from dogs and cats, to squirrels, deer and even opossums.
In addition to her parents, Avah was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Donnie Smith, who died August 20, 2022 and by two grandsons, Travis Jordan Smith and Donald 'D.W.' Smith.
Avah is survived by her two sons, Russell Smith and Greg Smith (Rose) both of Calhoun; three grandchildren, Brittney Smith, Hayden Smith, and Hannah Poole; 2 great-grandsons; and a brother, Wayne Hayden of Rineyville.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Monday, February 12, 2024 at Muster Funeral Homes, Calhoun Chapel. Burial will be in the Beulah General Baptist Cemetery in McLean County. Friends may visit with Avah's family from 11:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. Monday at Musters in Calhoun.
