Mr. Lee, lovingly known as "Pops" by his family, passed away Thursday, December 4, 2025, in Tyler. He was born August 11, 1930, in Athens, LA to E. Dickson Lee and Mary Anderson Lee. He was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife of almost 70 years, Doris Alexander Lee and his granddaughter, Alicia Lee Dahl. He is survived by his son, Ken Lee of Los Fresnos, his 2 daughters, Jan Lee Laremore (Gill) of Hawkins and Melinda Lee Hands (Thomas) of Tyler, his 8 grandchildren, his 14 great-grandchildren and his 3 great-great-grandchildren.

He was an honor graduate of Athens High School. He attended Louisiana Business College in Monroe and East Texas Baptist University in Marshall. He graduated with a bachelor's degree from Southern Methodist University in Dallas. He was a veteran, who served as Staff Sergeant in the USAF Security Service, which was headquartered at San Antonio's Kelly AFB, and in Tripoli, Libya.

He was employed by Southwestern Bell (now AT&T) for 32 years as a District and Division Marketing Manager in Dallas and Ft. Worth. After retirement from AT&T, he continued his working career as Regional Development Director for Golden Gate Seminary in San Francisco for 2 years. Following that assignment, he accepted the position of Church Administrator at his home church, Shiloh Terrace Baptist Church in Dallas for a period of 7 years. After full retirement, he and Doris moved to Tyler and were active members of Green Acres Baptist Church since 1998, where he served as a Deacon and a Director of his Sunday Morning Bible Study, as well as various committee responsibilities.

Dick was an active layman, serving as Chairman of Pastor Search Committees on several occasions, as well as various other places of leadership, such as General Sunday School Director. He served 6 years on the Board of Trustees for the SBC Radio and Television Commission as a member of the Executive Committee. He was a member of the Nominating Committee to select Executive Board members for the Baptist General Convention of Texas and acted as a team member of an advisory group to the Executive Director of BGCT on personnel matters. He also served on the Board of Trustees for Baptist Child and Family Services in San Antonio for a 3-year term, and continued interest and support at Breckenridge Village in Tyler, which is an agency of BCFS. He was elected to serve on the Executive Board of the Baptist General Convention of Texas in 2017, but had to resign due to his wife's extended illness. His involvement in church life and Christian service has been the very center of his life's calling.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Breckenridge Village of Tyler, Green Acres Baptist Church Foundation, Gideons, or Hospice of East Texas.
