" B. Joseph (Joe) Hannifin, age 85 of Lenoir City, formerly of Knoxville, passed away on Tuesday April 26, 2022. He is survived by wife Dorcas Burleson Hannifin; daughter Dana M. Whitteaker (Tim); grandchildren, Mason and Sadie. He also enjoyed being with all Nephews and Nieces: Kenny Hannifin, ("old") Beau Hannifin, Pat Hannifin Paul Jarnagin, John Jarnagin, Donna M. Haltaman and Julie Jarnagan Burnett and several Great-Nephews and Nieces Preceded in death by mother and father, Lucille and John A. Hannifin; Aunts Bertie Miller and Nellie Richards; Siblings, James (Jim) K. Hannifin and his wife JoAnne; John Hannifin, Lucille Haltaman; Edith Jarnagin of Rutledge; Sister Jerome Hannifin St. Cecilia Dominican of Nashville and Nephew Phil Jarnagin. He retired from ORNL in 1999 after 40 years of being a "steam & pipefitter". A longtime volunteer at St. Mary's Hospital; U.T. Football (East Club); and U.T. Men and Women Basketball. He enjoyed working in his yard and gardening, traveling to Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Ireland and enjoying many cruises. However, with all the traveling, He loved best the Great Smoky Mountains, hiking to Mt. LeConte with the "Woodard Warriors" and staying at The Buckhorn Inn. The family would like to offer special acknowledgement to lifelong best friends, Bob Carmichael; Barbara Woodard and Jim Mcmillin. Words cannot express the thanks to the Staff at The Lantern-Morning Pointe (Westland Drive) and to the staff of Amedisys Hospice for their exceptional care and love and attention while Joe was in their care. To Joe's "Harem" who took care of him while volunteering at St. Mary's: Betty Addonizio, Linda Green Dianna Green Jessie Nokes and Mary Ann Keck. Pallbearers will be: Tim Whitteaker, Roger Ledbetter, Dean Newton, Kenny Hannifin and Joe Haltaman. Honorary Pallbearers: Tom Charron, Tyson Burleson, David Newton, Pat Hannifin, Beau Hannifin, Paul Robertson and Bob Carmichael. The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 6:00 pm Sunday May 1, 2022 at Rose Funeral and Cremation Broadway. A Rosary Service will follow the visitation. Funeral Mass will be 10:00 am, Monday May 2, 2022 at Holy Ghost Catholic Church with Father Michael Hendershott officiating; then to Calvary Cemetary. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Holy Ghost (1041 N.
