B. Jean Smith

B. Jean Smith, of Pittsville, MD passed away peacefully on December 7, 2025, at the Berlin Nursing and Rehabilitation Center at the age of 80. Born on July 28, 1945, in Wilmington, Delaware she was the daughter of the late Wilbur and Helen (Henry) Parsons.
Jean was a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend. She graduated from WiHi in 1963, a momentous achievement that paved the way for a lifetime of dedication and hard work as a clerk at the District Court of Maryland. She married the love of her life Robert L. Smith on September 11, 1963 and was married for 47 years.
A vibrant soul, Jean was not only a devoted family member but also an avid enthusiast of nature and the arts. She was a member of the Delmarva Coon Hunters Association and found joy in horseback riding, fishing, and camping. Her love for the outdoors was matched only by her passion for drawing, showcasing her incredible talent as an artist.
Jean leaves behind her cherished children, Barbara S. Barnes (Richard) of Parksley, VA, Robert Lee Smith Jr. (Rebecca) of Ocean Pines, MD and Thomas Lloyd Smith of Pittsville, MD; her beloved grandsons, Gregory Smith and Thomas Smith. Her legacy will forever live on in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing her.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, December 11, 2025, at 3:00 PM at Truitt Cemetery, located at 5676 Massey Crossing Road, Willards, MD. A time of fellowship to remember Jean will be held at the Powellville Fire Hall, 5085 Powellville Road, Pittsville, MD immediately following the service.
In addition to her parents, Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Smith Sr. and a brother, Sonny Parsons.
