Barb McKay, 65, of Taylor Ridge, passed away on February 21, 2026, at the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics.
Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday February 27, 2026, at St. Teresa of Calcutta Parish, St. Patrick Campus, Andalusia. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. on Thursday February 26, 2026, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., Moline. Cremation will follow services and private inurnment will be at Calvary Cemetery, Rock Island.
Barb was born on August 12, 1960, in Rock Island, the daughter of Donald and Betty (Dunlap) VanWychen. She married Daniel McKay on October 21, 1978, at St. Patrick Catholic Church. She was a kind and loving homemaker and incredibly talented at sewing, crocheting and quilting. Barb spent countless hours quilting and shared her work with her loved ones. She was active at St. Patrick Church where she generously volunteered her time with parish luncheons. She loved being with her family. Barb was a devoted grandmother who loved spoiling her grandchildren and attending all of their activities. Barb especially adored her time with her siblings.
Survivors include her husband, Danny; children, Amanda (Michael) Williamson, Matt (Jennifer) McKay, Alli McKay; grandchildren, Evan Williamson, Owen McKay, Luke McKay, Emma Williamson, and Elliott Williamson; sisters, Lois Strosche, Debbie (Tony) Brzostowski, Chris Bragg; brother, Ed (Sherry) VanWychen.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Mike and Bob VanWychen; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Bob & Pat McKay.
