MAMOU - It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Mrs. Barbara Sue Adams, a cherished mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, on Saturday, July 20, 2024, surrounded by her loving family, at the age of 73. The memory of Barbara's life and legacy will be honored and celebrated during a Mass of Christian Burial set to take place at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Mamou, LA, on Thursday, July 25, 2024, commencing at 2:00 pm. Following the service, she will be laid to rest at Reed's Cemetery. Father Massie will preside over all services.
Barbara was born on June 5, 1951, in Mamou, LA, devoted her time and energy to her family, and serving as a dedicated Manager in the Food and Service industry. Known for her unwavering love for her children and grandchildren, Barbara's caring nature and profound compassion touched the hearts of all privileged to know her. Her legacy of kindness, generosity, and loyalty will forever endure, shaping the lives of those she leaves behind.
She will be dearly missed by her daughters, Joanna Williams (Kevin), and Peggy Teixeira; her sons, Julian Landry, Wayne Adams, Jr. (Jenean), Robert Adams (Michelle), Richard Adams (Cheryl), Jesse Adams and Josh Adams; her siblings, Rhona Arnaud and Jimmy Dugas; her grandchildren, Madison Adams, Keyonee Williams, Andrew Landry, Jayden Landry, Stephen Edward Almirall, Kelley Angelina Almirall, Zachary Paul Gradney, Aryanna Nichole Holmes, Tana Frye, Brooke Jones, Kendall Frye, Lauren Adams, Brayden Adams, Kaitlyn Teixeira, Elizabeth Adams, and Adyson Adams; her great-grandchildren, Landyn Watkins, Natalie Renee Savoy, Zion Savoy, Camden Gradney, Hayden Williams, Greyson Jones, and Landry Laine Jones. Also left behind to cherish her memories are her nieces, Tanya Arnaud Eyster, Tammy Arnaud Angel, Tabitha Arnaud Yebba, Carla, Gricelda Aldavera; her great nieces and nephews, Kamio Rodriguez, Damian Rodriguez, Cassie Rodriguez, Jessica and Tyler Yebba; her son-in-law, Gus Almirall and last but not least her aunt, Tante Sue of Mamou.
Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Thomas Adams, Sr.; her daughter, Julie Renee Landry; her mother, Verna Ruth Fontenot Saucier, her sister, Paula Jo Mayeaux; her grandmother, Marie Douget; her grandsons, Travis Micheal Adams and Matthew Amado Almirall, and her brother-in-law, Norris Emile Arnaud.
At the family’s request, a visitation will be held at Ardoin’s Funeral Home of Mamou on Thursday, July 25, 2024, beginning at 10:00 am with a Rosary being prayed at 1:00 pm.
