Barbara A Alexander

Barbara Ann Alexander, 82, of Smithsburg, Maryland went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, peacefully at home.

Born on August 26, 1943, at Mountain Lake Park, Maryland. She was the daughter of the late James Edward Compton and Ellen Dessie Meritt. She was proceeded in death by her son Nick Alexander and husband Howard Alexander.

Surviving is her son Sean Alexander, wife Tammy, granddaughter Brittany Snoots; daughter Natalie Lynn Owens; daughter in law Penny Alexander; grandson Patrick Wivell and wife Trish, great grandkids Tommy and Kenna; grandson Kyle Wivell and wife Taryn, great grandkids Beau and McKennzie; her best friend Gladys Nance; cousins and siblings.

Barbara attended Southern Garrett High School. Barbara enjoyed life, going to church and worshiping God. She loved watching the Waltons, Little House on the Prairie and Christmas Movies on the Hallmark channel. She also enjoyed spending time at their camp at Riverbend in Falling Waters WVA. Riding around on their golfcart visiting and talking with friends. Barbara made the best pumpkin pies for Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners. Everyone also enjoyed her pork and sauerkraut. Both Barbara and Alex enjoyed going out to eat. Barbara enjoyed her McDonalds black coffee. But most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends eating and talking together.

A memorial will be at a later date at the convenience of the family.
