Barbara J. Artrip

Barbara Joyce Artrip, born Barbara Joyce Serwick, passed away peacefully on February 13, 2026, in Mancelona, Michigan, at the age of 83. Barbara was born on September 23, 1942, in Detroit, Michigan. She spent most of her life in the metro Detroit area, where she built her home and raised her family. Later in life, she developed a fondness for the Fort Myers area of Florida, a place she enjoyed and held close to her heart. Barbara was a mother and grandmother. She is survived by her three children: Debbie Bookless and her husband Peter, and their daughter Francesca; Donna Artrip; and her son John Artrip and his wife Anika, along with their children Terry, Jack, Henry, and Xavier. She had a deep love for her dogs and was a loyal fan of the Detroit Red Wings. Those who knew Barbara will remember her for her straightforward nature, her quiet presence in the lives of those she cared about, and the simple joys she cherished.

In accordance with her wishes, no service will be held. Arrangements have been entrusted to Kalkaska Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
