Barbara Marie Bachhofer, affectionately known as "Barbie," was born on December 5, 1961, in Temple, Texas. On Sunday, September 7, 2025, she left this world at 63 years old, with her daughter Shannon holding her hand.
Barbie was a vibrant and friendly spirit, she always made everyone feel welcomed and loved in her presence.
At the age of 15, Barbie met the love of her life, Anthony "Tony" Allen Bachhofer, while walking through the Temple mall with some friends. She knew right away that she would marry him. Their love grew into a marriage that spans over 47 years. Barbie and Tony started a family together, proudly raising two daughters. They shared many happy moments, enjoying activities such as country dancing, bowling and playing darts. In their free time, they loved outdoor adventures, including fishing, boating and camping. Barbie and Tony participated in local BBQ cook-offs, under the name “Fire-N-Da-Ho”, where Barbie won multiple trophies for her Baked Beans.
Barbie was predeceased by her father, Marion Wayne McEntire Sr., and one brother, Wayne McEntire Jr. She leaves behind a loving family who will cherish her memory. She is survived by her mother, Helen Tausch; her devoted husband, Anthony "Tony" Allen Bachhofer; two daughters, Shannon Crissy and her wife Angela Crissy, and Stephanie Ross; one brother, Larry McEntire and his wife Donna; two sisters, Susan Northam and her husband Doug, and Terri Manning and her husband John; and a grandchild, Phoenix Ross.
Barbie’s life was characterized by her unwavering support for her family and her deep affection for her husband. She will be remembered for her strong personality, unwavering spirit, and the warmth she brought to all who knew her. It is a bittersweet farewell to a beloved wife, mother, and friend who touched the lives of many. Barbie will be missed dearly but her legacy of love and strength will continue to resonate through her family and friends.
