Barbara G. Baker

1945 - 2026

Barbara G. Baker, 80, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Thursday, February 26, 2026.

She was born November 27, 1945 to William Chester and Francis May (Sharp) McBee in St. Joseph, Missouri.

Barbara was a devout Christian who loved going to church and dedicated many years of her life to teaching Sunday school. An ardent fan of Elvis Presley, Barbara found joy in his music. She delighted in her shopping trips, especially to Walmart, where she could always be found scouting for the best deals and latest treasures to share with her family.

Family was the most precious aspect of Barbara's life. She reveled in being a matriarch, thoroughly taking pleasure in the time spent with her loved ones, from preparing family meals showcasing her culinary skills to repairing a gamut of items with her exceptional seamstress talents. Barbara's home was a haven of comfort and care for anyone who walked through her doors.

Her passion for life extended to her fondness for Taco Bell outings with her granddaughter, a simple yet cherished ritual that brought her great joy. Barbara also loved watching old movies and attending lively concerts. She loved animals as well, showering them with the same boundless affection she offered her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Sierra White.

Survivors include her husband, John, daughters Angela Rowland (Randy), Annette Bromley (Everett), and Wendy Baker, stepson Richard Wall (Debbie), sister Wanda Howk (Don) and brother-in-law William White, as well as her adored grandchildren Chris Baker, Jonathan Pray, Melissa Bromley, Stephanie Shuman, Chelsea Rowland, Shianne Baker, Brittany Baker, Bryan Wall, Glenn Wall, and Michael Wall, and her fourteen great-grandchildren.

Barbara Baker lived a life full of dedication, joy, and unwavering faith, touching the hearts of all who knew her. Her remarkable attributes, the memories made, and the love she so freely gave will forever be treasured by her family, friends, and anyone fortunate enough to have been part of her journey.
