Barbara BARR

December 28, 1935 - November 7, 2023

Barbara Ruth Barr, 87, of Spokane Valley, WA, passed away on November 9, 2023. She was born in Philadelphia, PA. Barbara was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She had a heart full of love and a deep desire to serve others.

Barbara was a dedicated member of her community. She was known for her generosity and willingness to lend a helping hand. She lovingly prepared meals for those in need, served on the prayer team, and attended Bible studies. Barbara enjoyed spending time with her friends, family, and grandchildren, playing games and creating precious memories. She made it a priority to attend her grandchildren's weddings, graduations, sporting events and concerts.

In her professional life, Barbara worked as a bookkeeper intermittently throughout the years. She was diligent and dedicated to her work.

Outside of her professional life, Barbara had a variety of hobbies that brought her joy. She loved cooking, gardening, sewing, and scrapbooking. She was also an exceptional cook and took great joy in holiday cooking. These activities allowed her to express her creativity and create beautiful memories.

Barbara is survived by her loving husband of 68 years, Lowell Barr. She is also survived by her daughters, Debbie Strode (Marshall) of PA, Susan Berard (Dave) and Janice Seefried (Jeff) of WA, and son Stephen Barr (Jackie) of OH. Barbara leaves behind a legacy of love through her 17 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Kristin Muller of PA.

A memorial service to celebrate Barbara's life will be held in early December at Valley Real Life Church, located at 1831 S Barker Road. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Union Gospel Mission or Samaritans Purse.
