Barbara C. Bayne, born on June 18, 1943, in Greenville, SC, entered eternal rest on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, at the age of 82.
Born in Greenville, SC she was the daughter of Irene Smith.
After a challenging childhood, Barbara ultimately found her greatest joy in the love of Christ and family. She became a devoted Christian at a young age, and her faith remained a guiding light throughout her life. She was dedicated to sharing the gospel with everyone she met and cherished her relationships with both her family and her church community.
Barbara had a short career as an operator in the telecommunications industry working for Southern Bell. As her family grew, she chose to be a career homemaker. She took great joy in church work over the years. She enjoyed history, reading, traveling, shopping and loved good food. Her legacy of love, faith, and devotion to her family and friends will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
Barbara is survived by her beloved sons, Dale Bayne (Cheryl), Nathan Bayne (Rachel) and daughter-in-law Beverly Bayne; grandchildren, Heather Siders (Ryan), Hilary Reetz (Kyle), Holly Bayne, Hope Bayne, Darryl Bayne (Kayla), Derek Bayne (Anna), Bailey Bayne, Peyton Bayne, Mackenzie Bayne, and Avary Bayne; great-grandchildren, Zoey, James, Laiken, Owen, Judah, Norah, Granger, Harper, Holden, Claire and Charli.
In addition to her mom, she was preceded in death by her loving husband Buddy Bayne; son, Todd Bayne; sisters, Mary Harris and Hazel Martin
The visitation will be held from 11:30 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Homes, Northwest, on October 28, 2025, followed by the funeral service at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel. Burial will take place in Greenville Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Carolina Heights Church of God of Prophecy, P.O. BOX 51488, Piedmont, SC 29673.
