Barbara Ann Berg, 62, passed away unexpectedly in her sleep on Sunday, January 11, 2026 in Del Valle, TX. She was born March 29, 1963, in Concordia, Ks to Dennis Berg and Lois "Jean" [Henningsen] Berg, granddaughter of Evan O. Berg and Velma [Neilson] Berg, and A.J. Henningsen and Ann T. [Murphy] Henningsen.

Barbara graduated from Topeka West High School in 1982 and received an associates degree from Washburn University in Allied Health. She worked for Menninger Hospital, Memorial Hospital, Cottonwood, and other healthcare facilities in the Topeka and Lawrence, Ks area for many years.

Barbara was an avid traveler and trekked across the country in lieu of working a traditional 8-5 and settling down. As she traveled, she worked in the restaurant industry, picked coffee in Hawaii, and did painting and construction work to support her nomadic way of life. Sleeping in a tent, in the mountains, under the stars, was her definition of "the good life." Barbara would happily give her last $20 to a homeless person in need whom she crossed paths with. She is remembered for her love of travel, nature, animals, the earth, music and cooking good food.

Barbara is survived by her partner, Dan Tierney; mother, Jean Berg; brothers, John Berg and Daniel Berg; sisters, Diane Sadowski and Brenda Berg-Dyck [Randal]; nephew, Josh [Angela] Gibbons; niece, Beth McKenzie; great nephew, Jaxson Gibbons; great niece, Ava Gibbons; and many other relatives and friends. Barbara was preceded in death by her father, Dennis Berg; brother-in-law, Bryan Sadowski, and grandparents. A memorial mass will be held later this spring at Most Pure Heart Catholic Church in Topeka, Ks. Inurnment is pending.
