Barbara H. (Dempsey) Berry, 96, formerly of Lunenburg, passed away peacefully on Tuesday morning, August 26, 2025, at Sterling Village Healthcare Center in Sterling. Born in Fitchburg on May 7, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Forest M. and Winifred M. (Huey) Dempsey. Barbara grew up in Fitchburg and graduated from Fitchburg High School with the Class of 1947. Barbara worked for several years at the former Simonds Saw and Steel Company in Fitchburg. Following her retirement, she enjoyed part-time work in security at the Fitchburg Art Museum. A woman of deep faith and community spirit, she was a longtime member of Rollstone Congregational Church in Fitchburg, as well as a member of the Massachusetts Order of the Eastern Star, Jessamine Chapter No. 75, and the Lunenburg Friendly Seniors. She had many passions throughout her life, including fashion, music, dancing, walking, knitting, and trips to the beach. Above all, she cherished time spent with her family and many friends. Barbara is survived by her beloved daughters, Wendy Brown and her husband Robert of Leominster, and Holly Berry of Leominster; two grandchildren, Lauren Brown Desmond and her husband Michael, and Alex Brown and his partner Ashley Perez; one great-granddaughter, Francesca Juni Brown; two nieces, Susan Berk and Lynda Farina; and five great-nieces and great-nephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Edith L. Taylor of Pepperell. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 6, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. in Rollstone Congregational Church, 199 Main Street, Fitchburg. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Rollstone Congregational Church, 199 Main Street, Fitchburg, MA 01420. The Isabelle & Anderson Funeral Home, 316 Clarendon Street, Fitchburg, is assisting the family with arrangements.
