Barbara A. Blinn, 67, of Newport, Rhode Island, died on Saturday, October 4, 2025 after a short illness. Born in Newport, RI on March 3, 1958, she was the daughter of Barbara (Hamill) Platt and the late James Platt.
Barbara grew up in Newport later found great pride working as a CNA. She had a special way of caring for others as she worked in several area nursing homes over the years, as well as private duty care. Yet, her greatest job was "Mimi" and she enjoyed every minute of chasing around the grandchildren.
Barbara is survived by her children; Kerri Blinn of Newport, Daniel Nagelhout, Jr of West Greenwich, RI, and William Blinn III of Pittsburgh, PA, and her 11 beloved grandchildren. She also leaves her siblings; Arleen Darling of Las Vegas, NV, Helen Alexander of Rockville, RI, Carol Decker of West Warwick, RI, Ann Arsenault of Newport, and Timothy Platt of Middletown.
Barbara is preceded in death by a step-daughter, Jessica Blinn; her father James Platt and a brother, Jimmy Platt.
