Barbara Kay Schuler, known affectionately as Bobbie, was born on September 11, 1944, in Louisville, Kentucky. She departed this life peacefully on August 2, 2025, also in Louisville, surrounded by the love she gave so freely to others throughout her remarkable life.
Bobbie dedicated over 40 years to her career as a beautician, becoming a beloved figure in the community as the owner of Hi Go Beauty Shop. Her passion for making others feel beautiful and confident was not just a job; it was a calling that she cherished deeply.
Bobbie was a devoted member of Farmdale Baptist Church, where she found fellowship and a sense of belonging among her friends and family. Her warm smile and caring nature will be remembered by all who knew her.
Outside of her professional life, Bobbie was an adventurous spirit who loved to travel. She and her husband, Harold E. Schuler, who predeceased her after 45 loving years of marriage, would make annual trips to Gatlinburg with close friends, creating memories that brought joy and laughter.
She is survived by her loving children, Cynthia "Cindy" Kay Abell (Alan) and Harold "Eddie" Schuler; her cherished grandchildren, Lauren Gallusser, Kelley Haynes (Tate), and Amanda Yurt; and eight great-grandchildren who brought her immeasurable joy. Bobbie is also survived by her sister, Norma Baker (Buddy), and sister-in-law, Betty Kelley.
Bobbie now joins her dearly departed family, including her parents, Louie and Christine Kelley, her daughter, Sonya D. Meredith, her sister, Debbie Garvey, and her brothers, Louis Kelley and Carl Kelley.
Her legacy of love and kindness will continue to resonate in the hearts of those she leaves behind. Visitation will be held on August 12, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM, followed by a funeral service beginning at 2:00 PM, both at Farmdale Baptist Church, located at 1238 Durrett Lane, Louisville, KY 40213. She will be laid to rest next to her husband at Evergreen Cemetery in Louisville.
