OBITUARY:

Barbara Rose Bernstein Bock died peacefully on Sunday morning, January 11, 2026 at her home in Atlanta. Barbara was born on September 17, 1927, in Chicago, to Lillian and Aaron Bernstein, and raised there with her sister Rae Alice and brother David. As a teenager she would often visit her older sister in Atlanta, and it was there that she met her future husband Leonard Bock, a native Atlantan. They married in 1948 and welcomed their four children over the next ten years.

Family and friends were at the center of Barbara and Leonard's life. They traveled extensively, often with their lifelong friends, "The Bums". Barbara cherished her ten grandchildren and kept up the many details of each of their lives, and was thrilled as the great-grandchildren arrived.

Barbara was a beloved wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother, cousin and friend. She is survived by her children Naomi Bock, Ruby Bock and Barry Rhodes, David and Debi Bock, and Richard and Sherri Bock. She cherished her grandchildren Aaron Bock, Jacob and Jessica Bock, Joanna Bove, Marty and Zoey Bock, Leah Bove, Sarah and Bill Massengale, Victor Bock, Will Rhodes, Hannah and Daniel Habif, and Elli Bock and fiancé Louie Zweig. She was thrilled to welcome her great-grandchildren Elijah, Josephine and Magda Bock, Myers and Adler Bock, and Shaya and Bari Habif.

Many thanks to all of her caregivers from the last few years, and especially to Lilieth Lewin.

May her memory be a blessing.
