Gary Dale Bock, 71, passed away at Wyoming Medical Center in Casper, Wyoming, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.
Gary was born on July 15, 1954, in Newcastle, Wyoming, to Earl “Bum” Grant Bock and Marjorie Ellen (Roberts) Bock. He grew up in Osage, Wyoming, and attended elementary school in Osage and High School in Upton, WY. Known for his mischievous spirit, Gary often shared stories from his childhood—especially the one about sneaking rides on local trains to visit his grandma.
Gary graduated in 1972 and later enlisted in the United States Army. He was stationed in Germany and was always proud of his service.
After returning home, Gary began working at WyoDak Power Plant, where he met his future wife, Kay Donna Bordewyk. The two were married September 27, 1975. Together they raised two children: Sara Ellen, born in 1980, and Adam Charles, born in 1985. Gary and Kay shared many years together until Kay’s passing in 2006.
Throughout their marriage, Gary worked as a pumper in the oilfields. His work took the family to Plaza, North Dakota, where they lived from 1988 until they ended back in Wyoming in 1998. Gary remained in Wright, Wyoming, until his passing.
After losing Kay, Gary was blessed to find a second love and companion in Ronda Prell. The two shared a loving partnership for the past 18 years.
Gary enjoyed many hobbies throughout his life, including camping, fishing, and riding his Goldwing motorcycle. He was also a proud grandpa to five grandchildren, who brought him immense joy.
Gary is survived by his children, Sara Morris of Byron, Minnesota, and Adam (Malerie) Bock of Buffalo, Wyoming; his 5 grandchildren; and his life partner, Ronda Prell.
Gary was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Kay Donna (Bordewyk) Bock; his parents, Earl "Bum" and Marjorie Bock; his brother, Earl Darrel Bock; his sisters, Judy Marie (Bock) Patz and Patricia "Trish" (Bock) Farmer; and his nephew, Rodney Bock.
A service will be held on Saturday, January 31st, at 11 a.m. at Walker Funeral Home in Gillette, Wyoming.
