David William Bock, 72, of Houston, was cradled into Jesus' loving arms on Tuesday, January 27, 2026.

He was born January 21, 1954, in Canonsburg, a son of the late George and Stella Piroth Bock.

David was a 1972 graduate of Canon-McMillan High School.

His working career included Gee Bees, Cliff Heath Ford and Star Mould, but the bulk of time was spent at the Observer Reporter where he was Assistant Foreman in the Pre Press Department for 27 years and he retired from the Peters Township School District in 2021.

He loved gardening, planting, tilling the soil and harvesting his vegetables, car shows, classic cars and he especially enjoyed high school and college wrestling.

On June 5, 1999, he married Marcia Mansfield who survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Chris Bock (Mary Ann) of Coudersport and Anthony Bock (Melissa) of Washington; three daughters, Amy Ward (Rick) of Amity, Angela Bock of Chartiers Twp. and Shannon Denny (Trysten) of Hopewell; 10 grandchildren, Tori Titus (L.J.), Mason and Lila Bock, Dylan Ward (Josie), Madison Ward, Olivia and Penelope Bock, Kylee and Mia Fisher and Hunter Denny; two brothers, George Bock of Mesa, AZ and Allan Bock (Dale) of Cranberry; three sisters, Betty Anne Dombrowski of Canonsburg, Carol Best (Joe) of Canonsburg and Rosemary Smith of Washington; many beloved nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews; and his little dog Malibu who went everywhere with him.

Deceased are a brother, Ron Bock and his wife Norma; a sister-in-law, Marge Bock; two brothers-in-law Larry Smith and Ed Dombrowski; and a nephew Ron Bock Jr.

Friends will be received from 1 to 3 and 6 to 8 Friday in the McIlvaine-Speakman Funeral Home Ltd., Robert K. McIlvaine, Owner/Supervisor, 27 Cherry Ave., Houston, PA 15342. Services will be held at 11:30 a.m., Saturday, January 31, 2026, in the Chartiers Hill United Presbyterian Church, 2230 Washington Rd., Canonsburg, PA 15317, with Rev. Peggy Shannon officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

The family suggests memorial contributions to the Washington County Humane Society, 1527 PA136, Eighty Four, PA 15330 or the American Red Cross, South Western Pennsylvania Chapter, 250 Alpha Drive, Pittsburgh, PA 15238.
