Barbara M Bogie

Family and friends are heartbroken to announce the passing of Barbara Bogie on January 6th, 2026. Barbara passed peacefully at home with her family by her side.

Born in 1932 in East orange, NJ, to Fred and Katherine Weinspach. Barbara was part of "The Greatest Generation" and exemplified all the qualities of that generation, with a no nonsense take charge towards life. Barbara lived a wonderful 93 years.

Barbara grew up in Lyndhurst, and Clifton graduated from Lyndhurst High School in 1952. In 1954 Barbara married Charles Bogie, in 1963 she moved down to the Jersey Shore, Manasquan, where she lived the remainder of her life. Barbara also lived in Bremerhaven, Germany from 1972-1976, where her husband Charles worked for the Military Sealift Command. Here she was President of the Officers Wives Club, volunteered for the Red Cross, also volunteered at the base elementary school library, and neighborhood chairman of the Girl Scouts. Upon returning to Manasquan, Barbara continued being a devoted mother to her children, Sharon Bogie of Manasquan, Gary Bogie of Brielle, Patrick Bogie of Houston, TX. Barbara was also a devoted caretaker of her Husband, and her parents.

Barbara loved to travel and up into her mid-80s, enjoyed gardening, Broadway shows, concerts, and romance novels, and loved Casino trips to Atlantic City, and Las Vegas. Barbara also loved going on Bingo trips to Connecticut.

Welcoming her to heaven will be her loving husband of almost 40 years Charles Bogie, her Parents Fred and Kitty Weinspach, her brother Frederick Weinspach, and her sister Kathie Taylor.

Cherishing her memory are her children Sharon, Gary, Patrick, her 4 grandchildren Jeremey and Jordon Bogie of Brielle, and Joshua and Samanth Bogie of Houston. Also is survived by her loving sister Karen Gamble, and her brother in-law Bob Gambleof Basking Ridge, and her sister in-law Geraldine Weinspach of Clifton, sister in-law Patricia Bogie of Wall, and many nieces and nephews, and Luna her cat. Barbara is also survived by her many friends, especially Paul and Ellen Safka, and Mark and Ann Ghezzi.

We would like to thank the many caretakers and medical professionals who were there to care for Barbara in her last few months. Especially Ellen Danquah of Care Bridge home health care who also cared for Mom.

In lieu of flowers, please donate to the charities closest to her heart. The Manasquan Food Pantry, Memorial Sloan Kettering, and Visiting Nurses Association.

Arrangements are under the care of Orender Family Home for Funerals, Manasquan, NJ. An intimate prayer service will be held at the Chapel at St Ann's Cemetery, 1610 Allenwood Rd, Wall, NJ, 07719, on Friday January 9th at 10:30 am.
