Barbara Brewer Obituary

Published by Legacy on Feb. 23, 2026.
Barbara Liberto Brewer, born September 2, 1946, in Locust Point, Maryland, was the only child of Gus and Barbara Liberto. Raised in a close-knit Catholic family, Barbara attended local Catholic schools throughout her childhood and remained grounded in her faith and community throughout her life.

In 1963, she began working at St. Joe Paper Company, where she met the love of her life, Ivan Brewer, Sr. The two were married in February 1967. Together they raised Ivan's son, Ivan Brewer, Jr., and welcomed their daughter, Barbara Anna Brewer, in 1968.

Barbara and Ivan made their home in Morrell Park while raising their children, creating many cherished family memories. In 1984, they built their forever home in Marriottsville, Maryland, where Barbara remained devoted to her family and community. She remained at St. Joe Paper Company for 38 years.

After the passing of her beloved husband in 2005, Barbara continued to stay active and connected by working various jobs in the community. She especially loved waiting on her loyal customers at Nathan Henry's until it closed. She later worked at Bob Evans and Denny's, proudly saying her customers always knew where to find her. Most recently, she worked at the Dollar Tree in Eldersburg, where she formed many meaningful friendships.

Barbara was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She is survived by her son, Ivan Brewer, Jr., and his wife, Pamela; her granddaughter, Jessica Aronhalt; her great-grandson, Gary Wayne Aronhalt III; her daughter, Barbara Anna Brewer; and her grandsons, Shane Brewer and Zachary Brewer.

Barbara will be remembered for her warmth, strong work ethic, and the genuine connections she made with everyone she met. Her love for her family and her community will be her lasting legacy.
