Oleva Brewer Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Wasson Funeral Home - Siloam Springs on Feb. 22, 2026.
Oleva Brewer, 81, a lifelong resident of Kansas, OK, passed away on February 20, 2026. She was born in Kansas, OK, on August 27, 1944, to George and Flora Brewer.

Oleva was strong-willed and sassy, but she always had a gentle spirit with children. She was rarely seen without a Mountain Dew in hand, often while listening to cherished hymns or watching her favorite westerns.

A devoted woman of faith, Oleva faithfully attended Mountain View Church of Twin Oaks and found great joy in singing gospel music.

During her younger years, Oleva worked alongside her family on their farm, helping raise cattle and working in the strawberry fields. Her love for farm life stayed with her throughout the years and was reflected in her beautiful flower gardens and the care she gave her chickens.

Oleva enjoyed quilting, coloring, working puzzles, and taking walks. She delighted in decorating her home for Christmas and Easter, embracing every opportunity to celebrate.

Above all, she treasured time spent with her family. Oleva was a loving daughter, sister, aunt, and friend whose memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who loved her.

She is preceded in death by her aunt, Opal Cornelia (Park) Brewer; uncle, John Fletcher Brewer; great-niece, Kaylee Brooke Brewer; parents, George Brewer and Flora Bell (Park) Brewer; brothers, Jerry Lee Brewer, Loss DeWayne Brewer, Larry Dale Brewer, and Dwight Brewer; and sister, Velma Louise Rettke.

She is survived by her nieces, Leslie Maddox of Kansas, OK, and Teresa Carnes and husband Michael of Chouteau, OK; great-nieces, Nicole Maddox, Lauren Maddox, and Danielle Maddox, all of Kansas, OK; great-nephews, Jerry Maddox of Kansas, OK, and Colton Carnes of Texas; sister-in-law, Sandra Hensley of Kansas, OK; great-great-nieces, Jaycee Johnston, Catherine Campos, and Daisy Campos, all of Kansas, OK; great-great-nephews, Rowan Poteet of Kansas, OK, and Colt Lee Thomspon of Tulsa, OK; and sister, Jewel Thompson.

A funeral service will be held at Mountain View Church of Twin Oaks, OK, on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, at 10 a.m., officiated by Pastor Skip Hanvey. Burial will follow at Kansas Cemetery.
