Wilson ~ Funeral services for Barbara Ann (Taylor) Brown will be held on Thursday, April 10, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Alexander Gray Funeral Home Chapel in Wilson, with her niece, Tammy Hercules officiating. Interment to follow at Hewitt Cemetery. Family visitation is scheduled for Wednesday evening from 5 to 7 PM at Alexander Gray Funeral Home.
Barbara Ann (Taylor) Brown, age 80, of Wilson, passed away peacefully on Sunday April 6, 2025. She was born on November 15, 1944, in Wilson to the late Enoch Arlan Taylor and Willie Joyce (Williams) Taylor.
Barbara was a lifelong resident of Wilson, where she completed her education and graduated from high school in 1963. She dedicated her career to Uniroyal/Michelin, retiring from the Apex department. Known for her love of home and the simplicity of life, Barbara enjoyed spending her days cat fishing and cherishing moments with her family.
On February 9, 1981, Barbara married Cody Mark Brown, who preceded her in death on July 3, 1983. She was also preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Carolyn Jean Glenn.
A devoted mother, Barbara cherished the time spent with her two sons, Jay and Terry, and was a valued member of the Wilson Assembly of God Church. Her life was filled with love and support from those around her.
Barbara is survived by her sons, Jay Paul Norton of Wilson and Terry DeWayne Norton of Oklahoma City; her brother, Donnie Taylor and wife Kim of Wilson; sisters, Vicki Odaniel, Gwen Howell, and Rhonda Stearns and husband Kevin, all of Wilson; as well as her grandchildren, Josh Norton and wife Angeles, Jaycee Muncrief and husband Devin, Jay Don Norton and wife Faith, Taylor Norton, and Brook Walker and wife Echo. She is also lovingly remembered by her great-grandchildren, Jyncee Muncrief and Jaydon Walker, along with numerous other family members and friends.
Pallbearers will include Jay Don Norton, Josh Norton, Devin Muncrief, Kevin Stearns, Carl Bishop, Steven Thompson, and Jeremy Thompson.
