Barbara Anne Brownholtz (née Reynolds) of Collingswood, New Jersey, passed away on July 15, 2025, at age 87.

She was the beloved wife of the late Frank A. Brownholtz and devoted mother of Kathleen (Gary) Herman of Pennsauken, Beth Brownholtz of Andover, MA, and Suzanne (Jeffrey) Meyers of Cherry Hill. She is also survived by seven grandchildren: Gary (Leighanne), Jason (Amy), Ryan (Ally), Emily, Jeremy, Sean, and Allie; four great-grandchildren: Kamryn, Beatrice, Kyra, and Zoe; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, Emerson and Helen (née McMahon) Reynolds, and brother Joseph Reynolds.

Barbara was born in 1938 and grew up in Pennsauken, New Jersey. She attended St. Mary of the Angels Academy in Haddonfield, beginning a path that led her to meeting the love of her life, Frank (affectionately known as Buz), at a Valentine's Day party in her senior year, 1956. She and Frank wed in 1957 and spent 27 happy years together raising their three daughters.

As a teaching assistant in the Pennsauken School District, Barbara enjoyed working both in the classroom at Central School and in the front office at the Howard Phifer Middle School until her retirement in 1998.

Barbara was devoted to her family, her Catholic faith, her pets, and all things Irish. As a mother, she shared her love, her values, her wisdom, and her firm commitment to holiday traditions and thoughtful gift-giving. She was vocally proud of her seven grandchildren and made sure to attend as many of their games, concerts, recitals, and plays as she could. She served as a Eucharist minister and catechist, volunteered at St. Peter Church in Merchantville, and frequently visited the St. John Neumann Shrine in Philadelphia. A lifelong animal lover, she doted on each one of her dogs and cats throughout her life. After her daughter Beth moved to Massachusetts, Barbara adopted New England as her second home and became New Jersey's most fervent Red Sox fan.

Barbara made friends wherever she went, whether it be at work, her church, her neighborhood, the doctor's office, the hair salon, or Facebook. She cared deeply for her friends, and they could always count on her for a sympathetic ear and time for a visit or phone call.

She loved to travel, starting with a trip to Ireland with Frank to celebrate their 25th anniversary in 1983. Her pilgrimages to Medjugorje and Lourdes were profound spiritual experiences. Barbara would happily recount all her favorite sites in Provincetown, Massachusetts, and Ogunquit, Maine, as well as her excursions to Tanglewood in Lenox, Massachusetts, to see James Taylor in concert.

Viewing will be held Monday, July 21, from 8:00 to 9:30 a.m. at John Inglesby and Sons Funeral Home, 2426 Cove Road, Pennsauken, New Jersey. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:00 a.m. at St. Peter Roman Catholic Church, 43 West Maple Avenue, Merchantville, New Jersey. Internment will be at Calvary Cemetery, 2398 Marlton Pike West, Cherry Hill, New Jersey.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to the Alzheimer's Association (alz.org).
