Barbara Anna Buras

Barbara Anna Buras, 84, passed away on August 12th, 2024 in Pearland, Texas.
Barbara was born on September 17th 1939 to Newton and Bertha Buras in Houston, TX.
Some things that Barbara loved were: shopping, reading, cooking (she was a great cook), getting flowers for any occasion, giving and receiving gifts, lipstick (she never went out without wearing lipstick!), Beautiful perfume (her trademark), dressing up for any occasion and earrings to match nearly every outfit she had. Barbara loved anything pink. She enjoyed being the center of attention. For her birthday, she loved to eat out at Cajun/seafood restaurants and have everyone sing to her! She was blessed to be able to go on cruises to Mexico while she was still in good health. Barbara made friends everywhere she went.
In Jim's words, Barbara had a warm heart and perpetually cheerful nature that brought sunshine into his life. She felt the same way about Jim. They enjoyed talking on the phone and face timing the past few years.
Barbara is preceded in death by her parents Newton and Bertha Buras; and brother George Buras.
She is survived by her dear friend Jim Carr; daughter Sue Rowland and Doug; son Patrick Hughes and Jen; former husband George Hughes; brother Ted Buras; nephews David, Kevin, Brian, and Anthony Buras.
Barbara's daughter, Sue, would like to thank Houston Hospice for their love, care, and compassion for the past few months. We were blessed with some great nurses, especially Eva, RN.
