Barbara J. Burris, 88, of Crawfordsville, passed away Tuesday March, 10, 2026, at Belle’s Place in Crawfordsville.
She was born March 31, 1937, in Crawfordsville to Eddie & Thelma Elliott Hedrick. She was a 1955 graduate of Alamo High School.
Barb was a member of the Alamo Christian Church.
She was married to David Walp on September 17, 1955; he preceded her in death in 1972. She married Stanley Burris on February 19, 1983; he preceded her in death in 2013.
She is survived by her children: Brenda (Brian) Holt, Gina (Frank) Williams, and Susan (Buzz) Kidd; Siblings Eddie, Frank & John Hedrick, Kay Richardson, and Dottie Sheehan. Barb has 6 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, as well as several step-children and step-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her sisters Lois Ann Rash, Patricia Croley, Carole Devitt, and Mickie Thompson.
She retired from the Crawfordsville Park & Recreation Department after 40 years, where she served as the office manager, worked with senior citizens, the Blind Club, and the Sunshine Van.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Monday, March 16th at Hunt & Son Funeral Home with Tami Mussche officiating. Interment will follow in the Alamo Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:00 am-2:00 pm on Monday.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Youth Service Bureau
