Barbara Busque

It is with deep sorrow that we announce, after a valiant battle with glioblastoma, the passing of Barbara Busque, who left us peacefully, surrounded by family, on January 17, 2025. A beloved mother, Nana, sister, and friend. Barbara's warmth, kindness, gentle demeanor, and unwavering spirit touched the lives of all who knew her.
Born on October 28, 1954, in Stamford, Ct, Barbara was the daughter of Herbert & Rita Schulz. She was raised with a strong sense of religion and family values she carried with her throughout her life. Barbara's generosity and caring nature were evident in all her relationships, whether with family, friends, or those she worked with professionally.
Barbara had a passion for helping others and dedicated herself to that as a nurse at Middlesex Hospital for 43 years. Above all, Barbara was known for her boundless love, compassion, intellect, and empathy toward any living being crossing her path. She was a devoted mother who was not only an inspiration but also a confidante and cherished best friend to her children.
In addition to her family, Barbara leaves behind a wide circle of friends who will remember her for her infectious laughter, thoughtfulness, and incredible strength. She had the ability to make everyone feel special and valued. Her presence will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her four children Phil & Diana Busque, Michele & Steve Albert, Suzanne & Steven Gestay, and Bobby Busque. Her legacy as a loving nana will live on through her grandchildren who were the light of her life. Her grandchildren Keira, Karissa, Mason, Evan, Nicholas, Jackson, Christian, and Cosette, siblings Sr. Rita Mary Schulz, Gloria & John Kelly, Rita Schulz, and Mary & Bob Silva, along with many other dear relatives and friends who will carry her memory forward. Barbara was a dog lover, leaving behind her loving Miko and Barney.
A service celebrating Barbara's life will be held on January 24, 2025, at Maple Hill Chapels-Talarski Funerals (Molloy Funeral Home 906 Farmington Ave. West Hartford, CT 06119), with visitation from 4-6 pm. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on January 25, 2025, at St. Rita's Church in Hamden CT, at 11 am. Burial will follow at All Saints Cemetery, North Haven CT. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Apostles of the Sacred Heart of Jesus 265 Benham St. Hamden Ct. 06514.
Barbara's love and light will remain in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her. She will be greatly missed but never forgotten.
