Barbara Hawkins Byrd

Barbara Leigh Hawkins Byrd age 81 of Pisgah, AL died Friday, January 16, 2026 at Cumberland Health Care. Funeral services are Monday, January 19, 2026 at 2 PM CT at Corner Stone Funeral Chapel with Bro. Josh Richard and Bro. Rayden Hampton officiating. Burial will follow in Stevenson City Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 11 am until service time on Monday. In-lieu-of flowers please consider helping the family with funeral expenses.

Barbara was born April 15, 1944 in Fort Oglethorpe, GA to parents, William "Bill" and Edna Farmer Hawkins. She was a 1962 graduate of Ringgold High School and had worked as machine operator at Dover Mills for many years.

Survivors include daughter, Ruth Odom, son, Perry Richardson, grandchildren, Kelietha Baker King(Buck Adkins), Daniel Edmonds(Wanda), Natasha Edmonds(Jason Dawson), Ashley Smith(Heath Haggard), April Richard(Josh), Rickey Odom(Leann), Tiffany Raines(Jimbo), Christina Menzing, Jesse Richardson(Melissa), sister, Clorinda "Sissy" Gerasimchik, brother, Kenny Hawkins(Amy), several great-grandchildren, great great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, James Byrd, daughter, Anna Marie Menzing, great-grandsons, Samuel and Daniel Adkins, sisters, Thelda Rue Ayers, Nadine Brockman, brothers, Jerry Wayne Hawkins and David Hawkins.
