Barbie Clay, of Tyler, Texas, passed away surrounded by her loved ones after making Tyler her home for the past 7 years. She was formerly a resident of Edom, Texas.

Barbie was a faithful member of Edom United Methodist Church and had previously served with the Edom Volunteer Fire Department and the Midway Volunteer Fire Department. She was also a former member of the Tyler Soccer Association. She dedicated more than 18 years of her career to Southwestern Bell and over 20 years to Jordan's Hardware.

Barbie found joy in the simple things-spending time with her family and riding around Lindsey Park on her golf cart. A devoted grandmother, she loved watching her grandchildren participate in their many activities.

She was preceded in death by her father, James Short (1995); her mother, Barbara Short (2019); and her sister, Debbie Hargrove (2005),

Barbie is survived by her husband of 45 years, James Arlen Clay of Tyler; her three children; three brothers and three sisters; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
