Barbara Costa

LANCASTER, SC ~ Mrs. Barbara Diane Costa, age 79, passed away, Sunday, October 13, 2024 at her home. She was born October 10, 1945, in Queens, NY, a daughter of the late Walter Stawkowski and the late Helen Cendroski Stawkowski and was the loving wife of Ronald "Ronnie" Costa. Mrs. Costa was a simple lady and enjoyed all the simple things in life. For the last 15 years, she has loved spending time and taking care of her two grandchildren who were her world. She enjoyed watching her soap operas, going out, especially for brunch and dinners, and in younger years, bowling. She was devoted Catholic to Saint Raphael Roman Catholic Church in Sunnyside, New York.
Mrs. Costa is survived by her husband; Ronnie Costa; her daughter, Christine Fox, and her husband, Bobby; her two grandchildren, Daniel and Allison Fox; her sister-in-law, Joan Losavio, and her husband, Tom; and her cousin who was her best friend, Father Kenneth Gregory.
She was preceded in death by her son, Anthony Ronald Costa; and her parents.
The Catholic Mass for Mrs. Costa will be 3:00 pm Thursday, October 17, 2024, at Saint Philip Neri Catholic Church in Fort Mill, SC officiated by Father John Giuliani.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm, Wednesday, October 16, 2024, at Burgess Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, for those who wish, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place: Memphis, TN 38105.
